Needed Items

Throughout the year, many organizations and individuals ask the needs of the children and adults served by the Women's Resource Center of the New River Valley. We attempt to take inventory once a month and determine the needs of those we serve on a monthly basis. The following list is our monthly determination. However, if you have donations to bring to the Women’s Resource Center that are not on this list, we still welcome your donation. General

  • Pre paid phone cards
  • Pre-paid gas cards
  • Gift cards to Wal-Mart, K-Mart, Target, Kroger, CVS, Food Lion
  • Clock radios
  • Stress Balls and Silly Putty
  • Alarm clocks
  • Conditioner
  • Disinfectant wipes (Clorox/Lysol)
  • Laundry detergent
  • Dishwashing liquid
  • Plus-size sweatsuits in 1x, 2x and 3x sizes
  • Trash bags – 30 gallon trash bags
  • Quart-sized freezer bags
  • Gallon-sized freezer bags
  • Compact fluorescent light bulbs – to reduce electricity, we are trying not to use incandescents.
  • Pillows
  • Small fire extinguishers
  • Small appliances (toasters, mixers, can openers)

Food Supplies:

  • Canned fruits and juices
  • Canned meats like Spam, corned beef, ham, chicken (not tuna)
  • Canned ravioli, Spaghetti-Os, etc.
  • Canned spaghetti sauce

Baby Supplies:

  • Diapers – sizes 4, 5 & 6
  • Pull-ups
  • Shampoo

  • Petroleum jelly (small canisters)

  • Vacuums in working order
  • Pots
  • Pans
