Helping You:
GO TO: How You Can Help
24-Hour Crisis Hotline
Our crisis hotline, (540) 639-1123, is available 24-hours a day with trained crisis intervention staff and volunteers answering all calls. If that number is not in your calling area, please use our regional toll-free hotline at (800) 788-1123. Translators are available via AT&T Language Lines for our non-English speaking callers. In addition, a TTY machine is available to assist the hearing impaired at (540) 639-2197.
Emergency Advocacy
A new and emerging service of the Women’s Resource Center, advocates are on call 24-hours a day. When called, advocates go to law enforcement agencies or hospitals to assist clients experiencing sexual assault or domestic violence crises. While on site, advocates help clients in any way possible from just being there to hold someone’s hand while undergoing a physical examination to being a physical presence in the room on their behalf.
Emergency Shelter
Our shelter is a comfortable, attractive home with facilities for 26 adults and children. Crisis intervention counselors and trained volunteers supervise the shelter 24 hours a day.
Please call (540) 639-1123 or toll free at (800) 788-1123 for more information.
